Buy before I do (vol I)

Vol. 1: vintage currently sitting in my cart unpurchased (but barely)

I was joking with a friend last week that the whole reason I started this thing was that I couldn’t keep buying every great thing I saw, and I needed other people to buy them instead.

This is barely working. I put a low offer on the 60s velvet fur jacket featured in my gilet post, and the seller accepted. Help! This was not the goal. Although 60s velvet fur jackets are always very much the goal.

Thus I’m presenting a new tactic (and a new type of post for PMLF). Everything below is sitting in my cart or my watchlist right now, and I need you to buy it before I wake up two mornings from now with the shoppies, see that it's somehow still available, and decide that must be fate.

This may be a one-off. It may become a bi-weekly thing. I make no promises!

Vintage LLBean (M; $299 but offer lower)

I had the same one favorited and then it sold. I instantly had regrets. Then another came up, but $100 more than the last listing, hence my predicament. Don't you hate that? More appropriately priced ones here and here if petite sizing happens to work for you. (Or perhaps this brown version here.)

It's a touch girly/preppy for my usual preferences, but enough grandma that it evens out. The colors are really good, and I would style it a la Ari Goldwasser.

La Veste Club Pant ($420)

This isn’t vintage so only I can save myself (and I probably won’t). They may be trendy, and in a few months be on too many people that I get the ick, but 90% of what I buy is classic/timeless so I don’t think I care. This picture is what sold me.

Vintage handprinted Patricia Wolfe (M; $200)

I cannot tell you how much restraint it has taken me not to purchase this.

Vintage Ecconi (M; $70)

It's one of those jackets you see on someone else, compliment, ask where it's from — and then they say it's vintage, and you think “of course.”
