Happy Sunday from a very rainy NYC. On the bright side, gloomy weather is premium hunting weather (couch, movies, twelve tabs open). If you're just joining us, welcome!
This (very new) series is where I share the things I've been hoarding for myself on wishlists and in my hearts, in a very serious attempt not to buy everything good I see. I hope it brings you a new item, a fulfilling rabbit hole, or even just an entertaining moment inside my brain.

I knew I'd found my people when my vintage tapestry jacket was so well received. One of my main mottos is that you don’t need an occasion to wear vintage. This one has all the makings for delight: great colors, interesting trim, and velvet buttons (velvet buttons!!). I want her (or this zebra one), but I already have three, so one of you should have the honors.

Now that I know you want to hear more about small makers, meet one of my favorites, SJ Pottery. I first came across them at the Mount Vernon gift shop a few years ago and started my collection there.
SJ Pottery has since been discovered by Tory Burch, which I'm choosing to take as proof I'm onto the right things. I finally hung the platters I ordered from their Etsy shop back in the spring, and I just ordered another set of the above mugs for New York because I love them that much. (Sue, Joe's wife, says working with TB has been great. Good for them!)

Someone with a fitting event this fall or winter needs this (maybe for a big birthday bash?!). I wish I had something to wear it to. Like last week's Dries dress, I'd go with Skims underthings and lean into the sheerness. There are so many good accessory options, but I’m drawn towards big earrings and cuffs (maybe stacked) over the sleeves.
New here? Hi! Three months ago I started PMLF as a running record of what I’m hunting for, how I plan on styling it, and a few other creative pursuits sprinkled in. Between weekly(ish) newsletters, find me on Instagram sharing vintage and the aforementioned hodgepodge.

I would wear this as a shirt with jeans for an easy, no-stress outfit. The collar and closures feel so refined to me, and you could easily layer a chunky open sweater or jacket over it. It's one of those pieces you almost don't buy, and then you do and wear it all the time.

I've been hemming and hawing over which midi pencil skirt to get for a speaking engagement. You can't save me from this one, because I already ordered the skirt above in pink and cream (research!). I saw it in person (not in my size) and it looks promising, so we'll see. (It kind of reminds me of this Khaite one.) I have a vintage cropped blazer with a slightly fluted hem that I plan to pair with it.
